Crop Walk
Crop Walk 2011 a Success!
On Sunday, March 6 over 70 San Marcians gathered at the Old Fish Hatchery to walk for hunger. Crop Walk 2011 allows us to commemorate the plight of those who must walk great distances for food and water. Each year St. Mark’s participates in Crop Walk which is sponsored the Church World Service, raises money to alleviate hunger around the world and in our home town. Funds go to feeding the hungry in the developing world and a portion of the proceeds also go to the Hays County Food Bank. This year St. Mark’s walkers and parishioners rose over $600 to help end world hunger and relieve hunger here at home. Members of St. Mark’s who participated included Katrina, Marshall and Evan Valenta, Annie Bowersox, Nicholas and Margaret Hoover, and Lynn Villareal. Our walkers raised $772.00. Great work!
